Woke up nice and early this morning from our food coma! What a great Thanksgiving...feel blessed in so many ways and am thankful for the last couple of days we shared as a family. Went to a great Thanksgiving Eve service at church on Wednesday and enjoyed slowing down and worshipping as a family. The kids participated in their first communion which was pretty cool...watching them start to own their faith is awesome. I know Deb's heart is a little heavy on these first holidays without her Dad...Heather, Dan and Emma are spending Thanksgiving in Des Moines with Judy. We enjoyed a spirited game of football with friends yesterday to make room for the feast to come. Ended up being kids vs adults with the kids winning on the final drive. Beautiful day...good friends...70-degrees...lots of CO sun to enjoy...have to pinch myself sometimes. Cooked up a batch of famous Sal's twice baked potatoes (Airliner style) while watching the Packers do what they do...and Suh do what he does...knucklehead. Deb made a couple of the best looking pies I have ever seen (thanks Kuzma) and we headed over to Aunt Dee and Uncle Dave's for a great dinner. I think I heard Deb sneak in early this morning after participating in her first Black Friday escapade. Heading over to the Bourke's (Cornhuskers) house in a couple hours for the first annual IA/NE Black Friday Tailgater. They are serving Runza's and Fairbury Hotdogs (apparantly local favorites served at Memorial Stadium on game days)...we are bringing a can of whoop ass (served at Kinnick Stadium). Happy Thanksgiving Friends! Go Hawks!!!
