Winter Randoms

Last year's sacrifice of hanging out on the bunny hill and watching the kids fall down green runs has certainly paid off this year as we ski the bowls and mogul runs together. I treasure these days and I know Deb enjoys the quiet time as well while we explore new terrain and enjoy views like this (pictures don't do it justice).

Next Taylor?

Nastar

I went skiing with just Tyler on this day and we decided to check out the Nastar racing at Winter Park. They time you to the hundredth of a second and award medals based on your time. Tyler worked his times down and was on the verge of a bronze medal when the wind started to pick up and the times started to slow. He was so upset and determined that he asked if we could spend the night and try again tomorrow...so I pulled him out of school and we decided to hit it again the next morning. All night he kept talking about how he was going to beat his time and get a medal. So first run the next morning he came through the finish and heard them call out his time over the intercom and a bronze medal! I wish I had taken a picture of him looking over at me with both arms in the air like he had just won olympic gold...very proud of his determination to achieve his goal rather than giving up...or maybe he just didn't want to go to school.

A few weeks later he earned a silver and I have no doubt his sights are set on gold for next season.

Miss Pam

Deb loves working for Pam at Redstone. Getting crafty here with the kids and Pam's daughter Lacey

Wildlife Experience

Had some fun at the Wildlife Experience with Grandma and Grandpa the other day touring Globeology and a cool I-Max film.

don't ask...

Cirque Du Soleil's Alegria

The gang after the show. One of our favorite Cirque shows we have seen.

Matthew West

Deb, Kaylee, Betsy and Paige took in a Matthew West concert and said he was amazing. Big thanks to the girls for the awesome seats and pre-concert festivities.

Boys Night Out

Stephen (one of Deb's staff and friend at Childcare) and a buddy of his took Matt and Tyler to the Nuggets game the other night. Why do I get the feeling he was using our boys in this picture?

Two Climates

If it does snow in Highlands Ranch (which is rare) this is what it looks like the next day after the sun hits it...

...however it is always a winter wonderland an hour to the West

Christmas in Iowa

Went back to Iowa for Christmas and a relaxing time at Hawkeye Grandpa and Grandma Judy's. It was great to see Aunt Heather, Uncle Dan and Cousin Emma as well.
